Arthritus Programs

The Arthritis Foundation exercise program, “Joints in Motion” and “Tai Chi”  is a community-based, non-clinical group exercise program. It was designed to to help those who have joint and/or muscle problems achieve improved joint mobility, muscle strength and endurance, in order to improve the performance of daily activities. Exercises are done while sitting in a chair or standing. Participants are not required to perform floor exercises but such exercises will be reviewed.

The program is taught by a certified instructor, in partnership with the Arthritis Foundation Greater Chicago Chapter. The class meets every Tuesday and Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Orland Township Activity Center, 14807 S. Ravinia Avenue.

In addition to participating in the various exercises, the program also includes health education and relaxation exercises. A nominal fee of $30.00 for residents and $40.00 for non-residents is required. The next session begins Tuesday, July 26, 2011. Contact the Orland Township office at (708) 403-4222 for more information or to register.
