Health Services Offerings

Access to Care

This program is an option for residents of Cook County that do not have health insurance.  Administered by the Suburban Primary Health Care Council, Access to Care helps those adults who meet the program guidelines. 

Diabeties Monitoring

Fasting blood sugar tests are offered 3 times per month for a $5.00 fee. The tests are administered on Wellness Wednesdays, first Friday of the month and third Thursday of the month.

Cholesterol Testing

Cholesterol Screenings ($5.00) are available on 4th Wednesday of the month, 8:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.

Total Lipid Profile Cholesterol Testing allows with this simple finger stick, the results of total cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL (good cholesterol), LDL (bad cholesterol), TC/HDL ratio and VLDL readings may be obtained.

Emergency ID Bracelets

Immunization Clinic

The Township offers Immunization clinics monthly ranging from infants as young as 1 month of age to our senior population.  This service is offered to all residents with no insurance or who are under-insured.  The clinic partners with the Illinois Department of Public Health VFC program and the I-Care statewide tracking database.

Nurse's Closet

Lean on the Nurse’s Closet......for those in need of temporary equipment, the Nurses’ Closet is a convenient option for the residents of Orland Township.  Residents can borrow medical equipment for up to 60 days.

The long trek to healthy feet ends at Orland Township.  We are pleased to offer free screenings for the residents of our community if you suffer from any of the following:

Welliness Services

Please visit the Orland Township office at 14807 S. Ravinia Avenue to select a physician for school, camp, or sports physicals; a dentist for a screening examination, cleaning or x-rays; an ophthalmologist or optometrist for a vision examination; a chiropractor for an examination; or a podiatrist for an examination and debridement, from the list of those participating.

Arthritus Programs

The Arthritis Foundation exercise program, “Joints in Motion” and “Tai Chi”  is a community-based, non-clinical group exercise program. It was designed to to help those who have joint and/or muscle problems achieve improved joint mobility, muscle strength and endurance, in order to improve the performance of daily activities. Exercises are done while sitting in a chair or standing. Participants are not required to perform floor exercises but such exercises will be reviewed.

Nutrition

Red Cross Babysitting Certification Course

This course is offered quarterly to our young residents.    Designed for 11 to 15 year olds, the Babysitter’s Training course teaches our youths to care for children and infants; be a good leader and role model; make good decisions and solve problems; handle emergencies such as injuries, illnesses and household accidents; write resumes and interview for jobs.

Childrens Health Fair

Orland Township is home to four school districts and over 10, 000 school aged children.   This program, which is offered in the month of July, gives parents the peace of mind that their child will start the first day of school with dental, physical, immunizations and vision testing properly completed by our Township Doctors and Nurses. 

Medical Waste Acceptance Program

Orland Township health services is offering a medical waste acceptance program which allows the residents to dispose of needles and syringes in the proper manner.  All accepted materials must be placed in appropriate containers and may be purchased at the township.

Vial of Life

With the Vial of Life program, your current medical history will be on hand so that medical personnel can act quickly, should you not be able to provide the information.
